Comic Review - Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?
Being a Philip K Dick fan and a Blade Runner nut the DADOES comic definitely sounded like something I needed in my life. Upon checking out some of the great artwork on the covers, via Google images, and learning that the series had been completed and released in its entirety, it seemed like somebody had actually put some care into this project.
While the comic is called "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" I - for some reason - expected (hoped!) it to be some kind of spin off to the original novel. Something that would maybe expand on the world imagined in the original and, to a lesser extent, help me better understand it!
However, as stated on the inlay of the comic ‘this series is the complete text of Philip k. dick's Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? presented in graphic form.’ And that is exactly what it is.

This comic doesn't 'feel' like a comic as the pages are crammed with text. I found myself chugging through the text and not paying much attention to the art behind it. This is partially because the art is some-what unimaginative and fails to compliment the text as I hoped it would. With that said, there are a few good frames that do capture that fuzzy Blade Runner/DADOES feeling.
Alas, I am a fan. I'm willing to cut some slack and overlook the mediocre art and dense text, both of which I'm likely to get bored of by the 3rd issue.
